The Streetcar

It’s no secret that I LOVE the streetcars!   I confess that I digitally removed the name of the “original” city. This is a vintage replica of a San Francisco car, and I never would deface (and devalue)  the model.

The Red Wagon

I love this  little parade, with the dog at the rear.  The wagon was unpainted, and I knew it should be RED!  I had to change the white sneakers on both boys to black boots/shoes. The small boy riding in the wagon is now African-American.

The Freemans, an African American Family

I encountered a blog recently entitled “Sh*t Black People Don’t Like.” One of the things on the list was Christmas Villages…because there are no black people.  The Freeman family has been a part of Oak Valley since the beginning, and it is a prosperous African American family of Oak Valley. This is a new picture of the Freemans, headed to a holiday party with their little boy. I can’t resist rephotographing with the new backdrop! You will find another angle of the Freeman’s carriage in October 2011.
